In 1988, Seabourn set sail with the world's first fleet of luxury small ships, opening doors to harbors that larger ships could only dream of reaching. Some journeys stay with travelers forever — and that one, it turns out, started something that's still unfolding four decades later.

In 2028, we're marking our 40th anniversary — our Ruby Jubilee — with The Ruby Collection, a curated collection of voyages built in the same spirit: 54 sailings across our ocean and expedition fleets that look back on where we started while reaching places we haven’t been before.

From the yacht harbors of the Caribbean and Mediterranean to the Arctic, Antarctica, Southeast Asia, Japan, Alaska, and the 2028 World Cruise, which transits the Panama Canal in a nod to Seabourn's first sailing, here's what this exciting Collection has in store.

Sailing the Way We Always Have

At the heart of the Ruby Collection is a series of voyages inspired by the original vision that started it all — what we're calling the Yachtsman Collection. These are the trips where you arrive where bigger ships simply can't, travel like an insider, and experience the sea exactly the way Seabourn intended from day one.

Seabourn Ovation leads the way with 17 voyages of seven, 11, and 14 days through the Caribbean and Mediterranean, from late December 2027 through October 2028. The season kicks off in style: a two-ship New Year's Day celebration alongside Seabourn Quest in the Caribbean, complete with iconic Caviar in the Surf event at Carambola Beach. In the Mediterranean, you'll enjoy late departures and extended evenings in some of our most-loved ports — Athens, Dubrovnik, Valletta, Portofino, Cádiz, Tarragona, and Pátmos — giving you more time to linger before the sun goes down.

Southeast Asia & Japan: Seabourn Encore offers five voyages timed to seasonal cultural moments — think the Pingxi Sky Lantern Festival and cherry blossom season — plus a new Southeast Asia holiday sailing visiting Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam. New ports of call include Yatsushiro and Muroran in Japan; Taichung and Tainan/Anping in Taiwan; and Ko Samui, Thailand.

A First-of-Its-Kind Collaboration with The Atlantic

We're teaming up with The Atlantic — bringing leading thinkers and cultural voices aboard as part of our Seabourn Conversations enrichment program. The collaboration anchors a 12-day Canada and New England voyage on Seabourn Quest, with deeper discussions and moderated conversations that feel right at home against a backdrop of autumn foliage and coastal discovery.

The 120-Day Cape to Cape World Cruise

If there's a centerpiece to The Ruby Collection, it's this: a 120-day Cape to Cape World Cruise departing January 7, 2028. Aboard Seabourn Quest, you'll touch five continents and 23 countries, with immersive time in Antarctica, Easter Island, the Falkland Islands, and Cape Town. Fittingly, the voyage opens with a transit of the Panama Canal — a nod to Seabourn's very first sailing back in 1988.

From the Arctic to Antarctica: 14 Expedition Voyages

The Ruby Jubilee extends to our expedition fleet, too, with 14 voyages aboard Seabourn Venture and Seabourn Pursuit reaching some of the most remote corners of the planet — with expert-led Zodiac landings, kayak excursions, and immersive enrichment from our onboard Expedition Team.

Grand Expedition: Pole to Pole returns for a second time. Seabourn Venture will once again connect the world's northernmost and southernmost frontiers on a single 96-day voyage departing August 17, 2028 — from the High Arctic all the way to Antarctica, with rare wildlife encounters along the way and landings across 14 countries and territories, including extended time in Antarctica, South Georgia, and the Falkland Islands.

In the Arctic and northern reaches, both expedition ships head to Svalbard, Greenland, Iceland, the Faroe Islands, the Canadian Arctic, and the Northwest Passage. Highlights include:

Four voyages ranging from 21 to 34 days include the 21-Day Ultimate Antarctica, South Georgia & Falkland Islands and the 26-Day Scotia Arc: Antarctica, Falklands & South Georgia.

Celebrating 40 Years on Every Sailing

It isn't just the Ruby Collection voyages that will feel the anniversary spirit — throughout 2028, every Seabourn sailing will feature special onboard enhancements inspired by the Ruby Jubilee, from signature celebrations to themed entertainment and enrichment that looks back on four decades of small-ship exploration.
